FC Northern was founded in 2015. The club was formed to provide an outlet for local kids to get involved in football. The club initially started as 1 team and now runs 42 teams across various Merseyside leagues.

The club was founded by one of Northern Sports Academy Directors, Louise Worrall. Louise had previously worked with Marine FC Youth prior to them folding in 2013 and subsequently moved to Netherton JFC for the 13/14 season. It was here that Louise noticed the opportunity for providing local children of all abilities with high levels of coaching.

The power of sport, particularly football, is used to engage with people of all ages, abilities and social backgrounds. FC Northern is committed to inclusion, promoting health and wellbeing, and improving players abilities.

Since it’s formation the club has won many honours across various Merseyside Leagues including County Cups. The club now operates teams from U6 – U15 who predominantly play in the North Liverpool Junior Football Leagues. Northern Sports Academy provides junior players the stepping stone into club football.

The club welcomes players of all abilities and ensures to work closely with each individual player, creating a safe and secure environment where each player can express themselves while making new friends.
